Try not to get into comparing yourself to the previous teacher. You will be a better teacher if you do things you are comfortable with and create your own plans. There will be less comparisons if you go off on your own. The parents of the gifted students in our county are very verbal. Try to hold your head up, be confident, and find a mentor. If you need to ask anything, email me. I am new at this too, but maybe I can help.
