    Noreen,
I teach on the west coast and my second graders knew more than I did when I arrived at school. I don't have time to watch TV in the morning but many of them do. Some of them had relatives who had already been called to duty in another part of the world. Many had heard rumors and were very afraid. So we started our day as usual but we had a time of prayer for everyone touched by these tragic events. We tried to focus on God's strength and his ability to turn all things for good. Personally, I prayed that today would be a day that would shine for God's glory compared to evil of yesterday. I'm sure the real impact of this will hit little by little for a lot of the nation. You have a much more direct link and effect where you are. Of course all of the planes involved had people from California on them and we grieve for all of those families as well. My prayers are with you. You might also want to check the front page of busy board there are a lot of posts on this event there.
    God Bless.
