Abeka
By VL

Clip to ScrapBook
Schools that use Abeka usually modify it to their own philosophy. The school I teach at chooses not to introduce cursive until mid year of first grade. You might want to check with the school you plan to put your child
in and see what they do about that part of it. Coloring and writing are very important to the childs overall development. Maybe you can find some ways to make it more fun. An erasable white board with lots of colored pens might be good and lots of big pictue coloring books and a lot of blank drawing paper for individual creations. The large but not huge crayons are best for this age.
Don't worry about perfect pictures, encourage and praise your daughter's pictures, put them on the refrigerator etc. She is already going to have a full day so I wouldn't add too much more when she gets home. She won't be behind and pushing her to be ahead could be detrimental in the long run.
She needs some fun play time. Best Wishes.
