Our principal has told us that we will only have $1000 a month as a school to spend on all of our classrooms. We have 40 teachers. This includes copy paper, pencils, erasers, glue, construction paper, notebook paper, handwriting paper. I ask for donations of supplies such as copy paper, kleenex, pencils. We can not tell parents that students must have folders, markers, etc. So I ask for donations. I use pocket folders (2 per child) and pay for them myself. I'm always looking for bargains. California is or has (by this time probably!) run out of money!! I have taught for many,many years but can still spend up to and over $600 a year! Do I complain? Hmmm sometimes maybe but not much because I want these things and my kids need them. It makes my life easier.
