Expenses

Clip to ScrapBook
I teach at a private school in Houston. Two weeks after school let out for the summer in June we were hit by a tropical storm. Our classrooms were flooded with nine inches of water. Nine inches does not sound like alot of
water but my personal loss of things came to $850.00. I lost all of my border, it was in a border box on the floor of my closet, most of my charts and B.B. things were ruined- I never knew that water could seep between the lamination until now. The school went ahead in August and bought new carpet and any ABeka things that were ruined so we could start on Aug.13th. The insurance has not
paid yet because they are so backed up with millions of claims. I had to start with no start up money and I had to go ahead and replace just enough to get my room ready for class. We have been told that we will not get any of our settlement money until Oct. However, we will get paid on Aug. 31st so I will be able to replace a few more of my things. This is still the best job I have ever had- I'll just use plastic containers from now on.
