private/Public
By Maggie

Clip to ScrapBook
Jessica, the biggest difference between public and private is the pay. Much lower for private. Private schools are also smaller in general, which I find to be an advantage. I personally like teaching in a private school. The principal and faculty in my school are professional and are up on the latest educational research. Money is always a problem for equipment and supplies though we try and be as creative as we can. Many good things are happening in many private schools and it is generally a good place to be even if you are just looking for experience before you move on. Because of the pay many teachers do move on from private to public after they get experience. I hope this helps some.
