team teaching

In my last school we decided to team teach with the 3rd and 4th grade. I took the 4th grade in the morning and taught certain classes and the other teacher took my kids. Then we would switch in time to do Religion and get| ready for lunch. Since we also taught our own art, we would also combine the two classes for art projects. It was a little difficult since we had a combined class of 56. Also the only other problem came when doing report cards. The 4th grade children had grades and a certain criteria for their grades. The 3rd grade passed or failed. So it was more time consuming for me to learn how | |
to use the grading scale.
But it worked pretty well, the students were happy and so were their parents.
It also helps if the team teachers get along very well, which we did.
