decorating on a budget

I agree with much of what has already been said about yard sales, dollar stores, etc. You can check with your school office and see if they have a place where they keep odds and ends from past years. Last year was my first year teaching and I had a wish list a mile long. I was very timid about publishing it but I had a very insistant room mom, so I finally gave her the list. She distributed it to the other parents and what a blessing, they were very generous. You can ask for fabric that would make a great bb background, old wrapping paper etc. I always tell my students I want to keep some of their work in our class for awhile before they take it home. Best wishes and God Bless.
