Subbing
By L.P.

Clip to ScrapBook
If they followed your directions, then you must have been doing something right! Fifth graders are NOT easy. I was a sub for a short time and found that management wise, it was much harder. The students don't have the loyalty towards you that your own class would have. Some classes are so bad, that they misbehave on purpose to "get" the sub. I always was very strict toward the students, you can always ease up later but you can't go back if you start out nice. Some subs use reward systems of their own for good behavior. The students can earn a treat or extra recess with good behavior.

Since you were a preschool teacher for so long, you are probably more comfortable with the younger ones, too. I always liked them best!
