alternative certification

Have you looked into alternative certification? It might save you some coursework since you already have a degree. Look at the Arizona State Board of Education website for more info. I have a friend in Arizona who is looking| into this, too. Anyway, I wonder if Arizona schools might pay a bonus for technology teachers. Would you be interested in teaching at the secondary level? Another thought for extra income is taking on a year-round school situation where you can be hired for more than a 9 month contract. Here where I live that's possible in upper elementary grades in some overcrowded schools. | |
Or, you can tutor or teach during the summer, especially if you have a specific skill like technology. Check the community education department of the district you're interested in. Good luck. You sound like the kind of person fifth graders could really enjoy.
