Why?

I decided to become a teacher while I was an assistant. The teacher I worked with gave me small groups to teach and I loved it. One boy "caught fire" and became so excited about learning that he would shout the answers and wanted to take more work home every night. It was exciting for both of us. I was hooked and he began working at grade level ( a loss and a gain for us both since he was no longer in my group!). I started working toward my goal of being a teacher that very year. Teaching also provides me with a way to "give back to society". And I get paid for doing it!
