I don't actually "give" my children anything at our meet and greet at the end of the summer. I do provide a fun activity for them to do while they are visiting our class. I have white die-cut cupcakes with their name and birthday already written. I put out glitter glue pens, markers, crayons, etc. They love decorating their cupcakes. We use them the first week to make a birthday graph.
It is a nice "ice-breaker" and makes the kids feel comfortable. It also gives me some time to chat with parents. The kids always love doing this and leave excited to come back!
