I'm hanging in there...

...in many ways because of the wonderful responses I've received. I am determined to conquer my feelings of self doubt! In a way, I love what I do: I love standing in front of the children and teaching the material. What| I was never taught in school was handling management of the classroom, what to do if students are violent and threat each other in the playground, how to handle what appears to be "simple" morning routines such as lunch count and attendance/notes. There are so many little extras that control my day. I'll just be glad when that starts to run smoothly. I must admit that I have been either | |
close to tears or crying by the time I am in my car each day this week. I find myself driving home in a daze because I am thinking about the day and what needs to be done better for tomorrow. I honestly sometimes don't realize how aggressively I am driving. During the day at school, I barely eat a thing because I feel I have no time. By the time I walk in the door, I am tempted to stuff my face!!! Then I find myself working for hours on tomorrow's lessons; half of which will not get done because of all the interruptions!I guess I just need to know that there are others out there who started out this way. I know it will get better. I appreciate the responses I've received. Each one has given good advice and something I will seriously consider. You're keeping me sane!!!
