I posted above in my message to G.M., but I'll make a general announcement here. I GOT THE JOB!!!!!!!!!! YAAAAYYY!!! I got the call this afternoon and basically spent the rest of the day calling everyone I know
to tell them the news. It's only for one year because I am not Reading or Title I certified and, technically, I am a permanent sub, but the human resources person told me that the district prefers to hire from within the system on new postings and, since this is a very large system, I will stand a very good shot at a permanent full-time teaching contract. the main thing is that I've

got my foot in the door and I am very optimistic.

Regarding my daughter and her response to me in my time of need, my husband and I are very lucky indeed to have this wonderful, sensitive, smart, beautiful inside and out young woman as our child. When I called her this afternoon to let her know, she said,"Mom, I am so proud of you. I knew you could do it and you deserve it. You're going to be a great teacher." As you may guess, the pride flows both ways in our family. That's my girl!!!

Thanks for asking, pj. I am very glad that we have this board to offer support for those of us who may be somewhat long in the tooth but who are, nonetheless, very young at heart.
