practicing frugality

Clip to ScrapBook
I live in North Carolina. In our state, the teachers began working on August 9 but don't get their first paycheck until September 15. This is a long time for the first-timers to wait to get paid. The established teachers will run from paycheck of one year to the paycheck of the new year, so it's not a burden on them. However, I wonder how the brand-new teachers manage to last that long before becoming paid. Also, North Carolina only pays its teachers once each month--usually on the 15th. I work in South Carolina. We are paid biweekly.
