I have a slightly different experience. I have just started back to the teaching program at the age of 50. This is my second career. I am attending the college I started at 20 years ago.(I know-starting college at 30 seems| late - LOL). I am now still hanging around with some of the same people I was friends with back them----the only problem they are either professors or administration and I am still a student. Do I let it bother me? NO, I use it to my advantage. Just think if you face a "closed" class - just tell the professor,"at my age I might not still be around when they offer it again. You've | | got to let me in." It has been a lot of fun. I do think it, as many of you have mentioned, the ATTITUDE! There are some really "old" 21 year olds and some "young" 50 year olds. My motto is ...I am never too old to learn and never too old to be a good role model for others. I try to let people know that from the beginning, expecially the pro teachers I do my interns with. I am having a blast being a college student again. The only thing is my 25 year old son thinks I should bring my friends (20-21 year olds) home for a sleep-over.
