Stuff I can Do Now
By Julianne

Clip to ScrapBook
There's a whole list of things that aren't hard for older teachers. I came up with the following:

I can watch a child throw up and not get personally involved.

I don't feel obligated to feel passionate about every subject
brought up in faculty meeting.

I don't obsess over my wardrobe. If it fits and it's clean, I wear it.

I know how to recognize a temper tantrum and how to deal with one. (Even when the person throwing it is an adult!)

I recognize that my cute ideas are just someone else's cute ideas recycled. There's nothing new under the sun and I don't get my feelings hurt when my cute ideas

are rejected.

I know how to stick on a bandaid, clean up an accident and dry tears without holding up the entire class.

I can look forward to retirement and it's NOT THAT FAR OFF! (This may be a plus or a minus, depending on my point of view on any given day.)
