Kath,
You'll be great. Just the fact that you question yourself is proof that you will work to become the kind of teacher you want to be.

One of the very best things about being a parent that I forgot to mention was
the chance to quietly observe good teachers at work. I volunteered in my children's classrooms and often was given paperwork to do in the back of the class. It was the perfect vantage point from which to watch good practice at work. I was lucky in that my children all ended up in an accelerated program that attracted above average teachers. The fact that they didn't know I was "observing"
them was wonderful, because I saw them as they really were instead of on their best behavior for visitors. I picked up so many good ideas and routines from these people I really should send them all a thank-you note now that I'm back in the classroom!
