idealism
By lorla

Clip to ScrapBook
I totally agree with you. As a parent I learned a lot about school from my children, as a sub I learned from teachers, and I put it together in my own class. I am undoubtably less idealistic than I was when my oldest started
K, if I'd been teaching before kids I'd have been one of those starry-eyed 20 year olds. Now I know I can provide opportunities for kids to learn and if they do their best they can learn what they need to change the world but...I know the realities of life in the 21st century and I think this will protect me from being crushed. I just do my best and be realistic. Of course, I am
enthusiastic but my expectations are based on my real life knowelge of children, parents, and the world. So, yes, I agree that "grounding" will help keep me from burning out and will help keep me enthusiastic!
