unit ideas

Clip to ScrapBook
Brainstorm themes that would be of interest to the students first. Survival, tropical theme, Olympics, inventions, etc. I have always had better units going this route than staring at the curriculum.

Don't worry if the unit does not seem to fit into every subject area. Let that teacher try to creatively make it work by using the theme in practice exercises, for example in math or Lang./Writing.

The key to any great unit though is literature. Let us know when you have the topic and we can hopefully help you with some great reading materials!
