Clip to ScrapBook
I am a first year teacher with a set of challenging fifth graders. I don't know why they put some of them together in the same class, but it shouldn't have happened. Anyway, I haved discussed behavior with my students MANY
MANY times. We have done it in a class meeting/ forum where we all discuss how we feel and what each of us (student and teacher) could do to make it better for everyone. I know your situation is way different, but I would definately approach the class as if they were adults and explain that you are having trouble with their behavior. I wouldn't attack them, but I believe that if you
try to problem solve the situation with them, they will respect you more and learn to appreciate you. Like I said, this is my first time at teaching, but the meeting/forum does seem to work. Good Luck and I hope this helps!
