Thanks, Dawn! I am happy that I am heading in the right direction. We do keep notebooks and assignment books. They weren't used to keeping a notebook, but I am hoping that they are getting better at this now. Every once in awhile, I check to make sure that they aren't just stashing their papers somewhere--like the desk. When we read, I have them look at the graphic organizers of the text. We look at graphs, too. WE spent last week on dictionaries and thesauruses. We will continue to use them throughout the year. Keep the advice coming, MS teachers. You're doing great!
