papers
By Michelle

Clip to ScrapBook
I teach 6th grade, and as a rule I am not on top of the kids to take all of their stuff home. It is our team policy that is the students' responsibility to show their parents. In most cases, this is fine. It is just with
a few problem students that the papers don't usually get home. We are trying to get them out of the elementary thing where they have a weekly "Packet" and into the middle/high school thing. So, I think that 6th grade is a transition. What I do is just make sure that chapter tests in science go home to be signed (they have three days to bring it back signed or I call home and they serve
a lunch detention with me). And in Communications I make sure unit tests go home to be signed. The rest (quizzes/papers) are totally up to them. I stressed this to the parents on back to school night, and it seemed to go over well. It worked last year, and I am going to continue this way!
