grade sheets

I teach 7th and 8th grade. I personally do not send home the actual test papers unless a parent requests to see them. I do send home a grade sheet. It is simply a page that I list the date, description of item (ex. Ch 1 Section
2 test) possible grade, actual grade and there is a place for comments. I send this home about once a month or so. The parents are to sign the sheet and return it within 2 days or the child will loose their recess until it is brought back.
Another teacher in my grade level does send the papers home. She has the parents sign them and return if they are not returned, the student

serves a detention with her. The other teacher gives the test back and whatever the students choose to do with it is up to them. I personally like to have them on file incase a problem arises and I have to show documentation.
