Teaching 8th grade
By Shelly

Clip to ScrapBook
I have been a teacher at a Christian school over the past 10 years. Last year we broke the middle school into a regular 8 period day, with more teachers teaching different subjects. I teach 6th, 7th grade Language Arts, 6th,
7th, and 8th grade Math classes.
How many class periods to you have? How long are the periods? Do you also teach a separate Confirmation class or do they want you to intergrate it into each of your classes? Will students receive a separate grade for the Confirmation class?
If this is not a "new" thing your school is doing, you might want to ask what was the previous teacher's
format.
You said that you were hired to teach 8th grade. How many classes will you have with them?
Please be encouraged, don't worry about letting the parents/students down. If they are anything like my school, they will be supportive and you will receive lots of help
