1st week

Trish, I'm just curious, why can't you "teach" the first week? I usually spend the first day doing the teaxtbook thing with my homeroom kids and going over homeroom procedures. The first full day is usually a run through of the schedule. On this day, and possibly the next, I go over my procedures and expectations for my students. By day 3 we are ready to roll and I begin teaching. I usually start with a journal exercise, I teach ELA and Reading, and then we get down to business. I never seem to have enough time, so I use every moment I can.
