Gifted
By Alisha

Clip to ScrapBook
I recently finished my gifted certification. I am assuming that you will get certified within the next two years and will gain confidence and knowledge in the process.
I would suggest reading The Gifted Handbook by Colangelo and Davis. It is dense reading, but covers everything. Other great resourses can be found through the gifted and talented council webb page. Also, ERIC has a database under ese that is devoted to gifted.
If I could offer you one piece of advice it would be to watch out for the parents. Our gifted students have been together for a long time and the parents know each other well. Also, gifted parents are much more involved (sometimes over-involved!). They can be a great advocate, but as we know, that can go the other way also.
