Hi, I did my first placement in student teaching in a 6th grade social studies class.. When I was there, they were learning about ancient civilaztions.. early egypt, Mesopotamia. To teach the different social classes, | she had the students draw one person to represent each class. They had to show how they dressed. Another project was to make a brick. If you are interested, I will email you the directions. This was a fun project. They had to make it from only natural ingredients then they were tested! projects and group work.For an individual project, she assigned an animal that could be found in ancient egypt to each child. (I would suggest making sure that information could be found on it.. there were 2 animals that information could not be found) The students did well on this. Hope this helps! Trish
