Helping the sub, from another sub

Jerry,thank you so much for requesting the seating chart. It is so important, yet many people do not include this in their plans.

Teachers, I ask you the following. When you start the next school year, please stress something
to your classes. When they disrespect the sub, that is the ultimate disrespect for you. In my experience as a sub, the teachers who stressed this concept to their students turned out to be my best classes.
If we assign something whether it is just something extra to fill in the time or if it is an assignment like "I will not bang on the desks" 200 times, please back us up.

Our choices for discipline are very limited. If we assign a detention, make sure the student serves it. Otherwise all of our efforts to keep the class under control and to provide an environment that is conducive to learning is all a waste of time and energy.
