Freckle Juice

I use Freckle Juice in my second grade class at the end of the year. On the last day of the unit we paint blue freckles on our faces, me too, using blue tempera paint. Put on cold cream first! Then it won't itch and peel| off! The night before I send home a recipe worksheet for them to create their own Freckle Juice. They have to write down all their ingredients (only edible stuff) and how they made it. Then they bring it to school in some kind of bottle and we all smell them. We DON"T taste! We vote on the worst smelling, the best smelling, the "prettiest" and the ickiest! We also play a freckle juice card | |
game using a paper plate that they decorated to look like themselves. You have to get exactly get 10 freckles on your plate by drawing cards from a pile.They're labelled 1 Freckle, 2 freckles, and 3 freckles. Hope these are some ideas you can use! We have fun with it!
