I read The Family Under the Bridge with my fourth graders. I use it as part of my reading program. I just love the book. A few years back either Mailbox Magazine or Bookbag magazine had some activities for this book. One activity I love to do is to make "yule logs" with the children. I buy those individually wrapped rolled chocolate cakes for the kids, as well as the decorator icing in a tube. We design our own yule logs, then of course eat them.
