Another good book to read aloud
By Amy Lee

Clip to ScrapBook
THE SHINIEST ROCK OF ALL by Nancy Patterson is a great book to read for elementary students and young middle school students. It is based on a true story and Patterson is a retired local teacher. The novel is short under 70 pages I believe and the chapters are short with nice illustrations. It is a story of a boy with a speech disability. Patterson does a great job conveying how Robert feels and handles his disability. Also it has lessons of teasing and accepting others for who they are. Most of all it is humorous. I believe both barnesandnoble.com and amazon.com have this book in stock. I always read it aloud to my sixth graders.
