BEST FIRST Read Aloud!
By JES

Clip to ScrapBook
Here's the best first read-aloud that could relate to making classroom rules about RESPECTING others. It's MARVIN REDPOST, WHY PICK ON ME? by Louis Sachar. It deals, in a humorous way, with bullying and teasing. I love Louis Sachar. He has a wonderful way of getting his message across without being preachy. It's a short chapter book, but read it to yourself before reading it to your students (always a good idea). The "Why Pick on Me?" part has a two-fold meaning -- picking on as in teasing and picking as in picking your nose!!!!
Enjoy!
