Watsons!
By Barb

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi there,

This book was excellent! If anyone hasn't read it, get your hands on a copy quick! Another book by the same author is "Bud, not Buddy", also very good!

I did not use it in the classroom, but I can imagine there are many ways you could connect it to life in the 60s...have students interview someone they know who was alive back then and can remember the church bombing in the story. Or have them compare life now to then...rights and attitudes, etc. Have them follow on a map where the Watsons traveled to get to Birmingham. There are lots of ideas....

Enjoy the book with your class!
Barb
