Territories! By JES

Robyn, I don't know if you're still checking this posting, but I just ran across your comment tonight. I could not help but reply. I had the same problem. Our school is a 4th/5th grade center with ten 4th grade classrooms| and eleven 5th grade classrooms. I always tried my best to honor their requests and stay out of their territories. However, I finally found a solution to the problem! I became a looping teacher -- looping up with my 4th graders to 5th grade! I don't have to stay out of 5th grade territories now -- even when we are in 4th grade. Our school has separate literature storage areas | | for each grade level. We can now go into either area and browse for books! It's heavenly, but now I hear that the 6th grade middle school teachers are: ". . . sick and tired of hearing their students say, 'Ive already read that book in Mrs. Sargent class!'" I guess you can't win them all!
