I agree with most of Jennifer's list. However, I would caution about using Holes in a Christian school. I read it after hearing all the wonderful press and decided my public school parents wouldn't appreciate it. Read
for yourself to be sure as I'm sure you would before doing any novel.
I would add the Narnia chronicles. You would have the freedom to explore the wonderful religious metaphor in these delightful books. I'm planning to use this series with my Sunday
School class for this purpose. I would also add Tuck Everlasting and a wonderful little novel called The Green Book by Jill Paton
Walsh which talks about the last spaceship off the planet, and a new colony. It has lots of wonderful discussion points and you can tie it to some biblical prophecy in Isiah. Hope this helps!
