Homework check was only taking about 10 minutes probably, but I am still struggling with what I had the kids do for h/w. I tried having them check it w/ a partner, b/c I wanted more meaningful conversation. I did not achieve success. I was using Daily Math Practice which was 5 problems a night that covered number sense, geometry, word problem, data analysis, algebraic thinking. The students were not putting forth the effort I wanted. I am working this summer to re-vamp the procedures. By the end of the year, I tried having the h/w due on Fri and if they didn't understand something they were to come see me before or after school. I am trying to streamline h/w so it is less frustrating for the students, parents and myself. Thanks for the feedback. It is still a work in progress.
