You might want to check under the PROTEACHER reading section. There are several websites and unit activities list for this book.

In the past, I have had my class do text to self connections with Maniac, discussed the issue of prejudice, and compared characters through Venn diagrams. It is also interesting to hear them discuss the significance of the older man and why the author placed him in the story when he did.
