Hi,
For science we just made a terrarium and studied worms. In a aquarium, put a good layer of soil. On top of it a few pieces of fruit; renew them every few days. Keep moist. Make sure you have a few worms in the soil... then observe the tunnels, chart how many days it takes for a piece of fruit to disappear, what happened to it ( eaten? decayed?). Find out if there are any other animals in your terrarium. If you can find a few snails, they are great too- and seeing the snail eggs always makes kids wonder. My students loved our terrarium!
