Good luck-particularly if you are older. I looked and looked for a public school position. Although I am well qualified, 4.0 average, many extracurriculars and a law background, no luck. The jobs all went to young teachers. I ended up in private school. You might want to look there. Charters are another possibility. Also, I have many friends who are older, also were not overlooked for jobs in favor of younger teachers who work in Detroit and love it. I don't know, its all a matter of politics. If you want to be a sub however, there are jobs everywhere.
