Don't go to Las Vegas
By Michelle

Clip to ScrapBook
A lot of people, last year, suggested Las Vegas, as the new happening town. However, it has really felt the Sept-11-01 tragedy. Tourism is way down. Over 50,000 workers were laid off from casinos. FEMA was there handing
out rent subsidies. The boom has defintely left, and so too will the families with students. Schools that were being built in record numbers have reduced construction labor.

I know all areas of the country have felt the aftermath in so sort of way, but I am very curious what other states have felt it in their schools, too?

When I considered moving, Maryland was in my state recruiting.

They need lots of teachers in the urban areas, Baltimore and DC. VA was also heavily recruiting. Annapolis is beautiful. North Carolina was heavily recruiting, but the pay is terrible and they have lots of union problems.

Good luck!
