Just a thought

You sound like a very devoted teacher who wants to make a difference. I think you really need to search your own soul on this one. Which district will you be able to make the biggest difference in the lives of your students? How much does it really matter to you to be "in the loop"? Also you need to weigh the fact that a position may open in the desirable district tomorrow, or not for two years. There is also no guarantee that if you do stay "in the loop" that you will even be considered for a position in the desirable district. If it was me, I would take the job. Sometimes experience in undesirable conditions can outweigh the "loop".
