Is there any way that you can sub or volunteer tutor one or two days a week? Your university may not be the same, but at mine, we had several classes that required observations and projects to take place in classrooms.
These really helped.

You may also want to check with teacher organizations in your area and attend some of their meetings or conferences (ours were usually on Saturdays).

I was involved in the Association of Teachers of Mathematics and the Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development in my area. It really gave me an insight as to the problems facing teachers as far as teaching

new skills to students. It also gave me a greatly diversified folder of lesson ideas. Check with some of your professors, they may be able to direct you to some of these organizations.
