you must change your attitude first
By J

Clip to ScrapBook
On August 21st, I posted a response to you asking you to write back to us listing five positive qualities that an interviewer would like to know about you. You never responded. I asked you to tell us about yourself: your
degree, your experience, your hobbies, etc. No response. I asked you to tell us how you act in interviews, how do you respond to questions, I even asked you to type up a few responses and we would give you feedback. Again, no response. Discouraged as you are, you are NOT helping yourself right now. If you want help, we are here to give it. If you choose only to respond to these posts by
lamenting more and more, then you will never be able to move forward. ONLY YOU can make the decision--respond to us with some information and not more lamentations on your job plight. We can offer positive advice, in fact, we have, on countless occasions, but you refuse to acknowledge our requests and just keep posting more dilemmas in your job search. Everyone has to start somewhere. If a teaching job cannot come your way this year, then find something else--any job is better than no job, something that gives you a chance to share some talent that you have (whether it is teaching related or not) is better than doing nothing at all, and in light of the recent tragic events in our country, the fact that you are alive and well right now is certainly 1,000,000 times better than having no job at all! You really need to pick yourself up and take a more proactive attitude towards your job plight. And while you may feel it is sad that some of us would rather "attack" than offer empathy, you seem to forget that we have all offered advice, but you have refused to accept any of it. Just once, I would like to see you respond with just one thing about you that is postive--it might be the start of a successful job search!
