over qualified

It is hard to get a decent low paying job requiring little education because you hear the complaint of being "over qualified". I have a hard time today of encouraging young people to seek additional training UNLESS they are CERTAIN that 1)they want to do the job and 2)there is a BIG demand for the job! What is a good alternative job to teaching that you wouldn't hear the overqualified complaint?
