no big deal By Sandy

I went through what many of you are going through for many years. No job. Subbed for ten years. I was made to feel like a nobody by administrators who turned their noses up at me. Well, look at me now, I have a full time teaching job many years later, and folks, I can tell you for sure that I wonder what all of the hype is all about. It's like you can't join the exclusive club or something. Once you are in the door, you begin to see things differently. Teaching is an extremely hard job. The kids are terrible in behavior. Parents don't seem to want to help you. The administrators don't either. You are pressured by raising test scores. I can't imagine that this is what people really want for their lives. A teaching job is no big deal.
