Independant Schools
By Cathy-Dee

Clip to ScrapBook
I'm not sure if they would be the same in Canada. We have a few independant schools and also Charter schools. The main difference I've seen is that they tend to offer schooling based on something unique.

Some of the independant schools I've seen are Military schools, Arts Schools, Schools that focus on only the Core subjects, etc.,

Most would probably be fine (even fun) to work in but I would do as much checking into the school before taking a position. You want to make sure that their philosophies match your own. I'm assuming pay would be lower - though not always. And chances are you would not belong to a teacher's union which may or may not make a difference for you.
