Keep in mind that a job could suddenly open up for you. Teachers do retire in the middle of the year. (We had one who did.) They also leave to have babies. Even if you don't get a full-time teaching position this year, you may get a long-term subbing job. I have done that a few times, and I loved it. Even if you sub day-by-day, you will learn a lot from the experience. I subbed for six years when my kids were little, and I don't regret any of it. I received a lot of great ideas from teachers' classrooms and lesson plans as I travelled from school to school.
