Think Positive
By Cathy-Dee

Clip to ScrapBook
It may not be as bad as it seems. Although subbing can be difficult especially with those early phone calls (you sound like a night owl like myself, I usually drag myself out of bed in the morning). But subbing can also
be a wonderful experience - you get to see a lot of rooms, get ideas, experience different grade levels which will help you decide which you prefer, etc.,

AND.... Many schools still hire in September. Once school starts they may find they have more kids than they thought so they need to divide classes. Sometimes people quit or find out they are expecting. So do your best with the

subbing, keep your applications out there. Call the schools you are most interested in and let them know you are still available and would be more than happy to take a short-term position or even a 1/2 time position should one become available.
The nice thing about this time of year, is that schools do not like to "waste" time by posting positions and doing tons of interviews. Often they go to the ones on the sub list or who are still in the area first because they want to fill the position quickly.

GOOD LUCK AND I HOPE SOMETHING COMES YOUR WAY IN THE NEXT FEW WEEKS.
