to discouraged By Melissa

Dear Discouraged,First of all, I wish you would use a name instead of "discouraged," even if you make up a "pen" name. It is more personal. If you read my post--above--you can see what I went through before I became | a full-time teacher. What you will need to watch very carefully is going into an interview and conveying the attitude "I've been through this so many times before and I'm going to fail again." Interviewers are very perceptive to these sorts of things. Hold your head up high and speak firmly and clearly. Smile at your interviewers and look them directly in the eye. Remember that | | they don't have any more education than you do. They are no better than you are. Don't look up to them as almighty God. They aren't that. They are professionals the same as you are. If possible, show a little bit of cockiness. Don't overwhelm them with that. Just display confidence, even if you don't feel it. Watch yourself in the mirror as a friend interviews you in a mock interview. Have her study you to see how you sit. Interviewers watch how you sit, hold your hands and your head when you interview. A lack of confidence shows and they may think you are just too green of an interviewer to hire. If all else fails, try to pretend that they are in their underwear!
